The expansion, which broke ground in June 2017, features a state-of-the-art simulation lab, technologically advanced classrooms and student services offices.

Vanderbilt University School of Nursing opened a new $23.6 million building expansion containing a state-of-the-art simulation lab, technologically advanced classrooms and student services offices with a grand opening and ribbon cutting event on Jan. 22. The high-tech building also features wellness components designed to support occupants’ well-being in health and comfort.

An overflow audience attended the January 14 VUSN Dean’s Diversity Lecture given by Holly and Eileen Forlenza. An estimated 250 students, faculty, staff and interested community members heard the presentation by Holly, a nonverbal motivational speaker, and her mother Eileen, an advocate for family involvement in health care. VUSN alumna sees resiliance, struggles as she helps South Sudanese refugees in Uganda

Vanderbilt School of Nursing Alumna Immaculata Bramlage, MSN’12, spent the holidays much as she has the past five months: caring for roughly 300,000 South Sudanese refugees who fled to Uganda to escape violence in their homeland.
