Current building expansion details now online

News updates and information about the new Vanderbilt University School of Nursing building expansion can be found at https://nursing.vanderbilt.edu/vusngrows/. The new online pages were developed by the VUSN Informatics Development team to highlight the expansion project and help keep interested parties up-to-date. It consists of a section with the latest news stories about the project, information for potential donors about naming opportunities for building features, and day-to-day construction updates for faculty, students, staff and others who work or go to classes at VUSN.

The Construction Update section includes information such as

  • access changes,
  • door closures,
  • noise or digging alerts, and
  • any other activities that may impact classes, work conditions or other activities.

It also contains a project timeline, construction photo gallery, information for vendors and suppliers to the school, and map of accessible areas of the school that will be updated regularly.

“Constructing a new building in just over a year while continuing to hold classes and work in adjacent space is an ambitious undertaking,” said Linda Norman, the Valere Potter Menefee Professor in Nursing and VUSN dean. “Keeping everyone aware of things that impact their studies or work is vitally important.”

“It was also important to showcase the features and benefits of the new building,” she continued. “I want all alumni and friends of the school to see the plans for the building and to see what features could bear their names, if they so choose. We’re all so excited about this expansion and want to share that excitement with the Vanderbilt community so they can see what they’re helping us build.”
