Collaborative Academic Practice (CAP) Program

Scholarship

  • Full-Time Students

    • $22,250 per year

  • Part-Time Students

    • Up to $15,000 per year

  • Divided between tuition reimbursement and stipend

    • Distribution amount varies

Applicant Requirements

  • Good academic standing
  • Interest in care of the underserved
  • Willingness to travel to rural areas

 

Application Process 

  • Application will open on September 1, 2023
  • Deadline for Submission is September 29, 2023
  • FNP, AGPCNP and CAP Faculty will review
  • Participants will be notified by November 13, 2023

 

MTA Applicants

  • Site will be assigned by CAP faculty
  • Urban underserved and rural clinical partner sites
  • Rural sites up to 150 miles outside of Nashville
  • Sites may require an interview 

OMTA Applicants

  • Student secures site in preferred location
  • Site must meet grant requirements
    • Rural health or underserved populations
    • Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), FQHC look-a-likes, community health clinics
  • Request submitted to Exxat by application deadline (September 29)
  • Acceptance is contingent on signed affiliation agreement between site and VUSN
