Recognized for her research pertaining to the health-promoting behaviors of African Americans as well as perceptions of genetics information. She provides leadership as the Director of the Fisk/Vanderbilt University Nursing Partnership Program, which graduated its first B.S.N. students in May 2008, and is the founding President of the Nashville Chapter of the National Black Nurses Association, Inc.
