Recognized for his leadership of the Middle Tennessee Medical Reserve Corps and the director of the National Center for Emergency Preparedness. He assisted in the development and refinement of nursing courses and seminars designed to add disaster medicine/disaster management to existing curricula for the School along with several universities around the region. His contributions have brought a greater awareness of current health care policy while exposing nursing students to their roles as a potential nurse responder providing critical medical care during disasters.
