Dean Emerita Colleen Conway-Welch, Ph.D., R.N., CNM, FAAN, FACNM, will be inducted into the Modern Healthcare Health Care Hall of Fame on March 26 in recognition of her transformational impact and contributions to health care and the education of health care providers.
The honor is given by the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and media leader Modern Healthcare. It recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions and extraordinary strides in the health care industry.
In announcing the recognition, the organizations singled out Conway-Welch’s pioneering curriculum innovations and national advocacy for public health and safety issues, as well as her leadership of VUSN for almost three decades.
Conway-Welch, who also holds the Nancy and Hilliard Travis Chair in Nursing, is one of only two people to be inducted this year. The other is Thomas Dolan, ACHE’s former president and CEO. They will be honored at a gala in conjunction with ACHE’s annual Congress on Healthcare Leadership in Chicago.
