Professor Jennifer Kim, DNP, MSN’97, GNP-BC, GS-C, FNAP, FAANP, was named president of the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association (GAPNA) September 17 at the 2022 Annual Conference in Orlando, FL. GAPNA supports gerontological APRNs at all career levels, helps members prepare for leadership roles and supports policies that lead to equitable access to care for older adults.
“GAPNA has been my professional home for the last 20 years and I am humbled to be leading the organization as its President,” Kim said. “I’m passionate about the health and well-being of older adults. With an unprecedented growth in the size of the older adult population, the role of the gerontological APRN has expanded, and it has become even more critical for gerontological APRNs to receive adequate training, education and support.”
Kim has served as GAPNA’s president-elect for the past year. As president, she plans to lead the organization through implementation of a new strategic plan and continue to support GAPNA’s membership and policy efforts.
