Rene A. Love, DNP, PMHCNS/NP-BC, Assistant Professor and Director of the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Family) Program, was recently inducted as a Distinguished Scholar and Fellow in the Nursing Academy of the National Academies of Practice. Dr. Love was selected for Fellowship based on her extensive clinical practice and scholarship focusing on trauma. She has received funding through the Tennessee State Department of Education to work with schools on post-crisis recovery. Further, she integrates practice and scholarship working with women in recovery from prostitution and addiction.
The National Academies of Practice is a non-profit organization founded in 1981 to advise governmental bodies on health care. Distinguished practitioners and scholars from 10 different health professions are elected by their peers to join the only interprofessional group dedicated to supporting affordable, accessible, quality care for all. Each health profession’s academy has no more than 100 fellows.
