Eligibility

The Whole Foods Lab at Vanderbilt University is looking for study volunteers to participate in an 8-week research study.

You may be eligible for this study if:

  • You are a parent or legal guardian of an adolescent 10-18 years old with a body mass index (BMI) percentile of 95% or greater based on their age and gender.
  • You are 25 years and older and have at least one health condition that may be improved with a healthy diet (overweight or obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, elevated blood sugars, prediabetes, or type 2 diabetes, polycystic ovarian syndrome, history of gestational diabetes, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease).
  • You live in Nashville, TN or surrounding areas.

To determine if you and your adolescent may be eligible to participate, we will ask you to complete an online pre-screening survey.  If you are eligible based on your pre-screening results, we will invite you and your adolescent to come to our research facility at Vanderbilt University to collect your adolescent’s height and weight.

Families will receive kitchen tools, diet counseling from a Registered Dietitian, and monetary compensation between $100 to $130 for participating.

If you would like to participate, please complete the pre-screening consent and questionnaire HERE
