Dr. Christine Cleary Kimpel is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Vanderbilt University. She attended Kent State University, earning her BSN and MA in philosophy, focusing on healthcare ethics. Several end-of-life patient experiences as a burn and palliative care nurse motivated her to complete a PhD in Nursing Science at the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. Dr. Kimpel's research centers around patient and family autonomy and equity for marginalized populations. After completing her pre-doctoral fellowship as a VA Quality Scholar, her current work explores associations of resilience and childhood experiences with advance care planning among affordable housing residents to build tailored interventions and implementation strategies.

HyunBin You, PhD, MSN, RN

Dr. HyunBin (Binnie) You is a postdoctoral scholar at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, mentored by Dr. Leanne Bohem. With a background as a critical care nurse, she focuses on patient- and family-centered transitional care for ICU patients and their families. Dr. You earned her doctoral degree from Duke University School of Nursing, where she conducted a dissertation study that focused on transitional care for ICU patients and their families. Building on her dissertation research, Dr. You aims to understand ICU survivorship and recovery, developing interventions to improve patient quality of life and reduce caregiver strain during the transition from hospital to home. Through her work, Dr. You is dedicated to advancing ICU transitional care and making a meaningful impact on the lives of ICU survivors and their families.
