Maddie Lee Mason, PhD

Dr. Maddie Lee Mason is a postdoctoral research scholar at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, mentored by Dr. Angela McNelis. She earned her PhD in Psychological Sciences from Vanderbilt University in 2025. Her dissertation centered on the development and empirical evaluation of a technology-enhanced reflection system designed to support nursing students’ self-regulated learning following simulation training. As a postdoctoral scholar, Dr. Mason is expanding this work by integrating competency-based education principles into her reflection system to enhance its practicality and scalability in nursing education.
Seo Yoon Lee, PhD, MPH, RN

Seo Yoon Lee is a dedicated nurse scientist and postdoctoral scholar at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing's Center for Research Development and Scholarship. Dr. Lee earned her Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of Illinois Chicago, focusing her dissertation on patient-level nursing cost estimation using big health data. She also holds a Master of Public Health concentrated in Health Policy and Management from Yonsei University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chungnam National University in South Korea. Dr. Lee's research focuses are exploring care delivery dynamics and nurse/patient outcome optimization by leveraging available big healthcare data and quantitative methodology. Her expertise spans diverse topics, including health services research (hospital and nurse management) and policy analyses. Her academic journey reflects her commitment to advancing evidence-based practices and improving population health outcomes.
Mayumi Saiki, PhD, APRN, AGPCNP-BC
Postdoctoral Scholar
Mayumi Saiki is an experienced occupational health nurse practitioner dedicated to serving healthcare workers. She has a Ph.D. in nursing from the University of California, Los Angeles. Her research interest is the impact of occupational stress on cardiovascular health. Her dissertation focused on capturing the effect of work-family conflict associated with psychological and physiological changes, using biomarkers prior to the development of cardiovascular disease. Her dissertation research was dedicated to understanding the pathophysiology of the adverse health effects of occupational stress, a crucial step in primary prevention. Now, she expands her research interests to secondary prevention, targeting patients with heart failure and their caregivers, while understanding the challenges they face in maintaining their disease conditions and work, and how occupational stress affects their health outcomes.
HyunBin You, PhD, MSN, RN

Dr. HyunBin (Binnie) You is a postdoctoral scholar at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, mentored by Dr. Leanne Bohem. With a background as a critical care nurse, she focuses on patient- and family-centered transitional care for ICU patients and their families. Dr. You earned her doctoral degree from Duke University School of Nursing, where she conducted a dissertation study that focused on transitional care for ICU patients and their families. Building on her dissertation research, Dr. You aims to understand ICU survivorship and recovery, developing interventions to improve patient quality of life and reduce caregiver strain during the transition from hospital to home. Through her work, Dr. You is dedicated to advancing ICU transitional care and making a meaningful impact on the lives of ICU survivors and their families.
