Microbiology with Lab

Students examine the structure, function, growth and classification of bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites, with emphasis on microbial physiology, genetics, infection, immunity and disease transmission. Virtual lab activities, interactive simulations, and applied learning experiences equip students with skills needed to apply microbiological concepts to healthcare and public health settings.

Microbiology with Lab

Microbiology with lab provides an introduction to the study of microorganisms and their impact on human health, disease, and the environment. The course examines the structure, function, growth, and classification of bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites, with emphasis on microbial physiology, genetics, infection, immunity, and disease transmission. Students will explore the relationship between microorganisms and the human body, including mechanisms of pathogenicity, host defense responses, and the principles of infection prevention and control. Through virtual lab activities, interactive simulations, and applied learning experiences, students will develop skills in microbial identification, laboratory techniques, scientific analysis, and the application of microbiological concepts to healthcare and public health settings.
