Terry Witherington   DNP, APRN, CPNP

Assistant Professor

Bio

Dr. Witherington has worked in pediatric primary care for more than 20 years in setting ranging from directing a rural health clinic in Middle Tennessee to serving on medical mission teams to South America and Haiti. In teaching and in practice, she is fueled by a passion to improve the health care of all children. 

Before joining the Vanderbilt School of Nursing in 2003, she co-directed the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Tennessee State University. 

Her scholarly interests include childhood obesity, childhood ADD, and global health initiatives with her doctoral research focusing on childhood obesity in primary care. Dr, Witherington also maintains a community clinical practice with a focus in pediatric primary care.
