Bio

Dr. Terri Allison is a Professor of Nursing and Assistant Dean for Academics, Doctoral Nursing Practice at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. She is an acute care nurse practitioner with over 30 years' experience in critical care, cardiology, heart failure and transplantation and maintains a practice with the Vanderbilt Heart Transplant Program. She lectures regularly around the country on topics related to advanced nursing practice. Dr. Allison was instrumental in the development of the DNP program at Vanderbilt and regularly consults and presents on issues about Doctor of Nursing Practice education. Dr. Allison earned her Master of Nursing degree from Emory University, an acute care nurse practitioner post-master's certificate from Vanderbilt University and a DNP degree from the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center. In 2014, she was inducted as a Fellow in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
