Mulubrhan Mogos   PhD, MSc

Assistant Professor

Bio

My career research goal is to investigate the health effects of behavioral, biological and environmental risk factors on maternal cardiovascular health, and explore potential interventions that reduce cardiovascular disease risk among women. The long-term goal of my research program is to reduce adverse fetal-maternal outcomes and eliminate health disparity in pregnancies complicated by cardiovascular disease including hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. In 2017, I became the recipient of NHLBI-sponsored summer institute training: Program to Increase Diversity Among Individuals Engaged in Cardiovascular Health-Related Research (PRIDE) - Cardiovascular disease program, at SUNY Downstate. The NHLBI funded PRIDE-CVD program, encourages under represented researchers from diverse backgrounds to further develop their research skills and enhance their ability to secure external funding in research related to CVD. I have extensive experience in women's cardiovascular health, quantitative research methods, and the application of large databases for research in women's health.
