Mary Lambert   DNP, RN, FAAN

Bio

Dr. Lambert is continuing a long history of service in programs providing for health care needs to addressing public health.

Dr. Lambert has served on two Active Duty assignments with the Food and Drug Administration. Dr. Lambert also served two on Active Duty assignments with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The second CDC assignment was responsibility for managing providing critical leadership for program with more than 780 staff and an operating budget of approximately $1.6 billion.

Dr. Lambert also served on Active Duty on assignments in the Washington D.C. area including as Director, Office of Military Liaison and Veterans Affairs in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Health, a detail to the White House Detail, as well as deployments in the Nation's Capitol area after the 9/11/01 attack on America and in response to the National Capitol anthrax exposure event.

Dr. Lambert's served in multiple other Active Duty assignments, including temporary assignments, such as with the Rwandan Ministry of Health as a technical consultant for the Republic of Rwanda's Ministry of Health to support rebuilding health infrastructure after that civil war.

Prior to active duty service, she held various positions in government service and in private industry, including Associate Chief (ACNS/NHC) at a Veterans Administration Medical Center. During civilian and government service positions/assignments, Dr. Lambert held adjunct faculty appointments in Schools of Nursing.

Dr. Lambert completed the Leadership Fellows program of the Council for Excellence in Government in Washington, D.C., as well completion of the Kingian Nonviolence Two-Day Senior Leadership Training program and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing.

After retirement from Active duty, Dr. Lambert continued service as a consultant, volunteering at a VA outpatient clinic and as part time faculty with VUSN and most recently as an appointee to establish a new city community health program focusing on populations experiencing longstanding health disparities.
