Bio

Karen Hande is an adult health board certified nurse practitioner and a certified nurse educator. She earned her BSN at University of Connecticut in 1999, MSN at Boston College in 2003, DNP at Vanderbilt University in 2013, and her PhD at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2023. Karen is a Professor of Nursing at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and the Chair of the Health Promotion, Populations, and Health Systems Community. Karen is also an advanced practice nurse at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in the Symptom and Palliative Oncology Clinic. Karen is a fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) and the National League for Nursing Academy of Nurse Education (ANEF).
