Bio

Jennifer Wilbeck is a Professor of Nursing at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and the Emergency NP Academic Director.

Dr. Wilbeck's efforts have promoted the Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENP) role nationally and internationally to support delivery of high quality emergency care through education, service, practice and advocacy. Her leadership of the nation's first dual NP academic program for ENP preparation continues to serve as a model for ENP educational programs. She has led the development of national practice standards and the creation of a national ENP specialty certification board examination. Dr. Wilbeck was the founding Board Chair for the first national specialty professional organization for ENP practice, the American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners.

Her scholarly interests include the role of simulation in nurse practitioner education, ENP practice issues and competency assessment. As a recognized leader in ENP curricular design, she is currently leading a national initiative to standardize ENP education and serves on the Editorial Board for the Advanced Emergency Nursing Journal.
