VUSN spring 2022 semester starts Jan. 4; new health and safety protocols announced
Following Vanderbilt University's announcement that undergraduate and most graduate schools would postpone the start of the spring 2022 semester until January 17, Dean Pamela Jeffries provided specific information for the School of Nursing. Highlights included the information that VUSN classes would start January 4 as previously scheduled, that staff would work remotely until January 18, and that most specialty program classes would start in hybrid/remote formats for the first few weeks of 2022. Hard hats and shovels signal the start of construction for School of Nursing building
Students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing gathered June 20 for a groundbreaking ceremony officially starting construction on the nursing school’s new $26.3 million expansion. Vanderbilt Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos, Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Susan R. Wente, Board of Trust Trustee Emeritus Dennis Bottorff and School of Nursing Dean Linda Norman spoke at the ceremony, which was held in front of the School of Nursing’s Godchaux and Patricia Champion Frist Halls at 461 21st Ave. S. New building expansion planned for Vanderbilt School of Nursing
The Vanderbilt University School of Nursing will soon break ground on a new 29,947-square-foot addition connecting to its existing buildings on the Vanderbilt campus. Construction is expected to begin in late spring and be completed August 2018. The $23.6 million facility, approved by Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos and the Vanderbilt University Board of Trust, will be built at the intersection of VUSN’s historic Godchaux Hall and the Patricia Champion Frist Hall near the south side of the Heard Library. Jana Lauderdale receives university leadership award
Jana Lauderdale, assistant dean for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion in the School of Nursing, received the second Joseph A. Johnson, Jr. Distinguished Leadership Professor Award ever given by Vanderbilt University The honor recognizes faculty leadership in equity, diversity and inclusion in academic endeavors and was presented during Vanderbilts spring faculty assembly.
