Mission

NSRH provides students, nurses and midwives with education and resources to become skilled care providers and social change agents in sexual and reproductive health.

Our Vision

We envision a world in which all people have access to just and dignified comprehensive health care. Sexual and reproductive health care is integral to the health and well-being of our communities. Through organizing, networking, advocating and educating, NSRH seeks to increase access to sexual and reproductive health care, especially communities who may have difficulty obtaining these critical services.

History

In 2007, student organizations at Oregon Health and Sciences University (OHSU) and Winona State University joined forces to create a national network of student-led chapters dedicated to addressing issues with sexual and reproductive health. In 2017 the organization became Nursing Students for Sexual and Reproductive Health. Today, there are 26 chapters in the United States.

Membership

Membership is open to any nursing student or nurse. Students with an interest in sexual and reproductive health who are in good academic standing can participate. Leadership positions stand for one academic year and are chosen via an application process. National NSRH membership is free to students. Student members receive access to professional development experiences within their field, as well as educational opportunities and advocacy tools.

Meetings

Meetings occur monthly. Meetings occur virtually and/or in person.

Interprofessional Collaboration

NSRH strives to foster collaboration with other student organizations who share an interest in improving the health and wellness of our communities.
