Due to requirements of the New York Office of College and University Evaluation and the New York Office of the Professions, VUSN will accept students residing in New York to our MSN or Post-Master’s Certificate specialties that lead to advanced practice licensure (i.e. AGACNP, AGPCNP, ENP FNP, FNP/ANP, NNP, NM, NM/FNP, PNP, PMHNP, WHGRNP, WHGRNP/AGPCNP), but students may not complete clinical preceptorship in New York. Student may reside in New York, but must complete clinical preceptorships in another state. VUSN will admit New York registered nurse students to the DNP, PhD and Master of Nursing and Master of Nursing Prespecialty programs, and the MSN nursing informatics specialty as these programs do not lead to additional advanced practice licensure.

Per U.S. Department of Education’s 34 CFR 668.14(b)(32), students cannot enroll in distance education programs if they reside in a state or territory where licensure requirements are not met or not determined. As a result, applicants living in The Republic of the Marshall Islands are ineligible to enroll in Vanderbilt University School of Nursing’s Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or Post-Master’s Certificate programs.
