Nurse Faculty Practices

Vanderbilt University School of Nursing works in partnership with Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Vanderbilt Office of Advanced Practice in a number of nurse-managed clinics.

VUSN faculty are the providers in these clinics, many of them as employees of VUMC. Nursing students gain opportunities to apply their learning in the community, and VUMC gains the comprehensive approach and expertise of nurse practitioners educated with the latest in advanced practice.

VUSN and VUMC nurse-managed clinic sites include

  • Primary care practices
  • Employer health primary care centers
  • Women’s health centers
  • Nurse-Midwife practices
  • Birthing center in partnership with Baby & Co
  • Neighborhood clinics

Vanderbilt Faculty Nurse-Midwives offer women pregnancy and birth experiences that are flexible and emphasize personal attention. Visit their site to learn more about their practice and clinical settings where services are available.

The successful and innovative VUSN and VUMC relationship is explored in this profile, “The Vanderbilt Model.” For an overview of nurse-managed clinics in the U.S., read "Mapping America’s nurse-managed clinics.” Learn how a VUSN alumna started Tennessee’s first nurse-manage clinic in "Rural need inspired Tennessee's first nurse-managed clinic".
