Rose M. Vick   PhD, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Bio

Rose received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Belmont University, her Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University, and her PhD from the University of Arizona. She joined VUSN as faculty in the fall of 2012 and teaches full-time in the Psychiatric Mental Health Specialty. She teaches in a variety of PMHNP specialty level courses across all three semesters and has mentored DNP students on psych-related projects. She is Project Director of the Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Grant, a 4yr HRSA training grant with the purpose of increasing the APRN behavioral health workforce in rural and underserved communities. She has also developed psych mental health content for three additional VUSN HRSA training grants.
She is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Across the Lifespan) , and in addition to her teaching role, she provides psychiatric mental health services at Neuroscience and TMS Treatment Centers. Prior to transitioning into private practice, she spent years providing psychiatric services in the specialty area of psycho-oncology initially at Norton Cancer Institute in Louisville, KY and then at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. Her dissertation topic was "Meaning Making and Dispositional Mindfulness among Women with Breast Cancer."
