faculty profile

Makayla Cordoza   PhD, RN, CCRN-K

Assistant Professor

Bio

Dr. Cordoza's research is at the intersection of sleep and cognitive function. She leverages her experience working as a critical care nurse and nursing practice specialist, with her research training in sleep and circadian neurobiology to investigating the role of sleep in the development of neurocognitive impairment in adults experiencing acute and chronic illness requiring hospitalization. Dr. Cordoza's ultimate goal is to develop interventions that improve sleep and circadian rhythmicity as a mechanism to protect neurocognitive function across the hospitalization trajectory.
