Kristen Lind Anton, BS'03, MSN'04, received an Excellence in Patient Experience Award from Vanderbilt University Medical Center in October 2021.

Soheyl Asadsangabi, MSN'04, DNP'13, received the Patient Experience Award from Vanderbilt University Medical Center in November 2022, and an Excellence in Patient Experience Award from VUMC in October 2021. She co-manage s and staffs the Vanderbilt Center for Women's Health clinic that opened in July 2016 in Thompson's Station, Tennessee.  

Nichole Berglund-Clark, MSN'04, celebrated the eighth anniversary of Hope Medical Clinic, her nurse practitioner-owned rural health clinic in Clinton, Arkansas, in July 2017, which expanded to four nurse practitioners and a doctor of osteopathy. She welcomed her second child in fall 2016.

Laura Beth Brown, MSN'04, was a panelist in March 2021 for "Women's Leadership in the COVID-19 Era: How Women Responded and Led the Charge to Mitigate the Pandemic," as part of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center's celebration of Women's History Month. She was cited as an example of a nurse with innovative thinking by Daily Nurse in a July 2018 piece called "4 Ways to Build Innovative Ideas into Nursing Practice." Laura Beth was interviewed by The Tennessean and VUMC Reporter , and on WBRC in Birmingham in December 2016, for stories about the Vanderbilt Health OnCall program. She is on the Nashville Health Care Council Fellows advisory committee.

Lisa Bushnell, MSN'04, is a nurse practitioner at Epiphany Dermatology in Taos, New Mexico (2021).

Kristin Carter Campbell, MSN'04, is a pediatric nurse practitioner at the Children's Health Center in Marble Falls, Texas (2017).

Margaret Morrison Chotard, MSN'04, received the Patient Experience Award from Vanderbilt University Medical Center in November 2022, and an Excellence in Patient Experience Award from VUMC in October 2021. She got married in July 2019. Margaret is an acute care nurse practitioner at Vanderbilt Heart.

Tom Christenbery, MSN'87, PhD'04 , of Nashville, passed away February 16, 2021. He was posthumously awarded the Alumni Award for Diversity and Inclusion presented by the VUSN Alumni Association to his family during the school's annual awards ceremony in October. In September 2020, his book, Fast Facts for Writing the DNP Project: Effective Structure, Content and Presentation , was published by Springer. Tom presented about engaging faculty in philanthropy at the Nursing Advancement Professionals conference in April 2019, and received the VUSN Dean's Award for Faculty Achievement in Media in June. That year, Tom co-sponsored a challenge gift incentive during Vanderbilt University's Giving Day, and co-authored "Writing a Diversity and Inclusivity Statement: Guidelines for Nursing Programs and Faculty," published in Nurse Educator that November. He co-authored "Appreciative Advising Pilot Study: An Innovative Approach to Advising Doctor of Nursing Practice Students," published in Nurse Educator in August 2018. Tom presented at a Vanderbilt University Medical Center faculty scholarly writing workshop in October 2017. He was a professor at VUSN, director of program evaluation and member of the Alumni Board.

Debbie Drake-Davis, MSN'04, DNP'12 , of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away November 6, 2018. She was an adjunct instructor at VUSN. 

Jessica Estes, MSN'04, became the executive director of the Kentucky Board of Nursing, based in Louisville, in July 2019. 

Lisa Fournace, MSN'04, co-published "The Impact of Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause on Quality of Life," in the November/December 2017 issue of Urologic Nursing .

Carolyn Freeman, MSN'04, is a psychiatric nurse practitioner at Pathways of Tennessee where she provides psychotropic medication management services in an outpatient community mental health clinic (2018). 

Jennifer Hicks, MSN'04, joined the faculty of Lipscomb University in Nashville as an instructor in October 2022. She wrote an article on miscarriage and stillbirth for the August 2020 issue of Tennessee Nurse .

Judy Hoffman , MSN'04, is on a team that provides care in the field with the Community Treatment Unit of Clayton County Fire and Emergency Services in Georgia. Nurse practitioners partner with paramedics to treat patients and arrange appropriate follow-up, reducing unnecessary hospital transports (2016).

Linda Hughlett, MSN'04, DNP'13, co-moderated "Educators, Leaders and Nurses: Resetting Relationships," presented in April 2022 to VUSN students, alumni, faculty and staff. She is chief nursing officer and senior vice president at Regional One in Memphis, Tennessee.

Joanie Laughlin Jeannette, BSN'83, MSN'04, served as moderator of "Compassion Fatigue during COVID-19: How Nurses and NPs Can Stay Grounded," in November 2020, part of the VUSN Dore to Dore Alumni Forum. She was quoted in the VUMC Reporter in August 2017 about patient flow nurses at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Joanie is administrative director of adult inpatient medicine at VUMC and president of the VUSN Alumni Board.

Laurie Holland Lee, MSN'04, is an in vitro fertilization nurse practitioner at the Nashville Fertility Center (2020).

Lori Lincoln, MSN'04 , of Simpsonville, South Carolina, passed away February 16, 2022.

Shara Mayberry, MSN'04, is co-author of "Grady Health System's Mobile Integrated Health Program: A Statistical Analysis of Low-acuity 911 Calls," published in JEMS Exclus in August 2021. She is a lead nurse practitioner at Emory Coordinated Care Center in Stockbridge and Decatur, Georgia.

Janet Mulroy, PMC'04, DNP'16, joined the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses board of directors in July 2021.

Diana Johnson Oakes, MSN'04, works with inpatient adult diabetes management at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago (2019).

Leigh Guinn Powers, MSN'04, DNP'11, is a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner at Bluewater Behavioral Health in Niceville, Florida (2021).

Teresa Richardson, MSN'04, DNP'10, is a clinical professor and director of the executive leadership program at the University of Memphis Loewenberg College of Nursing in Tennessee (2022).

Luz Salazar, MSN'04, is a family nurse practitioner at Neighborhood Health in Nashville (2016).

Randi Singer, MSN'04, received the Emerging Researcher Award from the American Public Health Association Public Health Nursing Section in November 2022, and a faculty fellowship from the Institute for Research on Race and Public Policy in December 2019 for her studies on how Black sex workers protect their health and prevent human immunodeficiency virus. She is a clinical assistant professor in the department of human development nursing science at University of Illinois Chicago, where she is the principal investigator on a National Institutes of Health-funded study, "Centering Those Engaged in Transactional Sex: A PrEP Innovation for Getting to Zero." 

Ben Smallheer, MSN'04, PhD'11, is consulting editor of Burnout in Nursing: Causes, Management and Future Directions, published by Elsevier in March 2022, and he received the Diversity, Inclusivity and Equity in Simulation Leadership Excellence Award from the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning in June. He was invited to join the advisory committee for the King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, College of Nursing—Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in early 2021. He was a panelist for "How the Media and Entertainment Industry Perpetuate Stereotypes of Nursing (and Why That Hurts Everyone)," in May, part of the VUSN Dore to Door Alumni Forum, and wrote a chapter, "Early Recognition of Preventable Factors Associated with Delirium Saves Lives and Costs," for the book, Best Practices in Nursing: An Issue of Nursing Clinics , published by Elsevier in September. Ben co-sponsored a challenge gift incentive during the 2019 Vanderbilt University Giving Day, and presented "Using the Revised INACSL Standards of Best Practice: Simulation SM," and "Strategies for Effective In-Situ Simulation," at the Saudi Health Simulation Conference, in November. Ben is lead faculty for the adult gerontology nurse practitioner-acute care program and an assistant professor at Duke University School of Nursing in Durham, North Carolina.

Mollie Palmore Weinman, MSN'04, is a pediatric nurse practitioner at VIP Midsouth Children's Clinic in Springfield and Pleasant View, Tennessee (2016).
