Bio

Recognized for serving as director of the family nurse practitioner program, interim associate dean for graduate/professional programs, and interim chair of the Department of Family and Community Health Nursing at Vanderbilt. She was instrumental in the success of the family nurse practitioner program, one of the first of its kind in the Southeast. Later, she became the director of the master's practitioner program. She retired after 28 years of service and continued to volunteer at the Siloam Family Health Center in Nashville.

Virginia George died July 26, 2018 at the age of 94.
