Bio

Dr. Courtney J. Pitts joined the School of Nursing faculty in 2011 after practicing as a full-time FNP in an urban internal medicine/primary care clinic. She serves as the director of the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program and teaches in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program.

Clinically, Dr. Pitts is an experienced FNP who currently practices primary care in a Ryan White funded clinical setting where she provides HIV management and care to individuals with HIV. She is also experienced in primary care in a family/internal medicine urban setting. Dr. Pitts has been trained as a 2013 Southeastern AIDS and Education Training Center (SEATEC) faculty through Emory University to provide education-based oral presentations on HIV related topics to advanced practice nurses, physicians, registered nurses, dentists, pharmacists, and dental hygienists.
