VUSN FNP Alumnus, John Killgore, joins Halifax County health department

The Halifax County Public Health System has announced VUSN FNP Alumnus, John Killgore, a family nurse practitioner, has joined the health department and is now accepting new patients. He has more than 20 years experience with extensive knowledge of emergency/non-emergency management as well as providing full spectrum care to a diverse population.

Three School of Nursing faculty named first Valere Potter Distinguished Dean’s Faculty Fellows

Assistant Professor Cathy Maxwell, PhD, FAAN, Associate Professor Shelagh Mulvaney, PhD, and Assistant Professor Bethany Rhoten, PhD, have been named the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing’s first Valere Potter Distinguished Dean’s Faculty Fellows. The new program supports tenure-track faculty in their research and scholarship. The designation includes funding for two fiscal years and is part of an overall Vanderbilt University initiative to expand support for faculty throughout their careers.

VUSN has redesigned two of its Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) specialty programs and relaunched them with revised curricula, educational formats and degree requirements. The programs, Nursing Informatics (NI) and Nursing and Health Care Leadership (NHCL), are now accepting applications for admission in fall 2019.
