The purpose of this article is to explain how to manually evaluate a quiz in the Brightspace learning environment.

Grade a Long Answer Item

 Step 1

Navigate to the Quizzes Tool

Step 2

Select quiz to grade

1. Click next to quiz name
2. Click Grade

 Step 3

Locate the user you want to grade, and click on an attempt#

Step 4

Grade question

1. Scroll down to the question you want to grade, and read student answer
2. Enter a score
3. Leave feedback for the student (optional)

Manually Assign/Change Points

Step 1

Navigate to the Quizzes tool, and select a quiz

1. Click next to quiz name
2. Click Grade

Step 2

Locate the user you want to grade, and click on an attempt#

Step 3

Navigate to the question you want to grade or reassign points

1. Assign or change points
2. Add feedback for the question (optional)

Leave Feedback for Entire Quiz

Step 1

Navigate to the Quizzes tool, and select a quiz

1. Click next to quiz name
2. Click Grade

Step 2

Locate the user you want to grade, and click on overall grade

Step 3

Provide feedback for the student

1. Grade Item Public Comments: comments will be visible to user from his/her Grades tool
2. Feedback: comments will be visible on user’s quiz submission view
3. Attachments: you can add a file, or record an audio or video note with your computer’s webcam
