This article will discuss how to enable Closed Captioning for Zoom Meetings. Faculty and Staff may consider enabling this feature to benefit their audience.
NOTE: It is important that you Enable Closed Caption before starting your Zoom meeting.
Step 1
Sign in to https://vanderbilt.zoom.us/ with your VUNetID and password. Then click on Settings in the left panel.
Step 2
Scroll down the page to the In Meeting (Advanced)
section. Under this section you will find the setting for Closed Captioning
. Make Sure it is enabled with the blue slider, then click the check box next to Enable live transcription service to show transcript on the side panel in-meeting.
Click Save
Step 3
Once you start your Zoom Meeting at the bottom of the Zoom window, click on the CC
button and you should see 3 options. The 3rd option is Live Transcript
, click on Enable Live Transcription
. This will transcribe the audio for your audience.
The audience can adjust the size of their text by clicking the ^ next to CC and selecting Subtitle Settings.
