Trough its partnership with Vanderbilt University Medical Center, the Vanderbilt School of Nursing operates one of the most extensive faculty practice networks anywhere. In addition to teaching and scholarship, VUSN faculty actively practice as nurse practitioners and nurse-midwives in a variety of settings that include primary care clinics, nurse-midwifery clinics, employer health care centers and more.

Opportunities in these settings give Vanderbilt School of Nursing students the real-world experience they need to deliver quality, compassionate patient care.

Vanderbilt has a well-respected, rich tradition of placing nurse practitioners and advanced practice nurses in collaborative practices with physicians and within agencies. Each year, School of Nursing clinical faculty provide tens of thousands of visits in numerous clinics across middle Tennessee. The Vanderbilt Nurse-Midwifery faculty practice has two clinical sites that provide a complete range of OB-GYN services and deliver hundreds of babies annually.
